Economic Dimension
The Economic Dimension of the EDE establishes a firm basis for instituting economic sustainability at the community scale. Intrinsic to the EDE approach is rightly relegating the discipline of Economics as a subset of Ecology.
Ecovillage economics re-localizes responsibility for livelihood, production, and prosperity to a regional-community base. Included in this Dimension are the following Modules:
- Shifting the Global Economy to Sustainability
- Right Livelihood
- Social Enterprise
- Community Banks and Currencies
- Legal and Financial Issues
NOTE: The following was written to introduce the specific teaching of the Economic Dimension that was presented in February of 2008. The courses of the future will vary in specific content.
